Chthonian: Where the Dragons Went

The Lake of Where the Dragons Went
Example Creature from the Lake

Name: Where the Dragons Went

Alternate Name: Loptdread’s Blessing

Description: Where the Dragons Went is the name given to a lake located in Vallice. The lake has a flesh pink translucent water and has no connection to any other water source. In the center of the lake is a Twilight Tree that continuously produces fruits that spew liquid into the lake.

Behavior: The lake acts as normal water. It can be swum in, and the water can be drunk although it is ill advised as it has a bitter taste. From the lake will bloom a form of lotus like flower. It has a small collection of leaves with a fleshy mass resembling a dragon’s head for the bloom. It contains no bones and has its snout pointed at the sky. Occasionally the water will bubble before a draconic Chthonian made of the liquid crawls out of the water. This Chthonian will then wander forward advancing without thinking, leaving behind it a trail composed of the same substance as itself. This trail will quickly solidify and decay into dust. Should the Chthonian find a hollowed area that can hold liquid such as a hollowed tree trunk or a bowl-shaped rock it will jump into it filling it with itself. At this point it will appear like a single draconic head outside of the liquid and it appears to gain sentience. The way it acts has been compared to a puppy. It will show a friendly demeanor to anyone that comes by although they are completely immobile. One may think dragons are Chthonians due to this lake’s existence, however a poem found in Vallice claims dragons were mysterious to Chthonians as well.

Threat: Where the Dragons Went and its Chthonians are no threat to humans.
