Chthonian: Twilight Trees

Description: Twilight Trees are plants that seem like our cherry blossom trees. Unlike the average tree they have grey bark. Their leaves are teal with golden veins and fall off the trees constantly. The trees grow transparent fruits that are in a variety of shapes. The shapes recorded include ones shaped like apples, strawberries, spheres, gourds, and oranges. Inside the fruits is a glowing sap like substance.
Behavior: Twilight Trees do not seem sentient like many other Chthonians in Vallice. They seem to act as the nursery to the Chthonian race. Inside each of the fruits is an infant Chthonian. They will spend a large portion of their lives living off the sap and swimming inside it the fruit. When the infant gets large enough the fruit will burst, and the infant falls to the ground. From there it will rapidly mature into one of the many Chthonian species although all relatively the same size. It will eventually grow to an appropriate size for its species. The name Waq Waq comes from Persian folklore. A tree from the mythical island of Waq Waq is said to grow women in a similar way to how Chthonian are born.
Threat: The tree itself is not harmful and the liquid inside has been shown to be nutritious to humans. Though this tree is harmless the Chthonians that come out can be anything but. There is no way of knowing what Chthonian fruit will produce as they all look identical while in the infant stage. Be careful as there are Chthonians that use these trees as hunting grounds or disguise themselves as these trees.
