Chthonian: Solitude

Name: Solitude

Alternate Name: The Fallen King

Description: Solitude is a Chthonian that appears as a crossbreed between a dragon and an insect. It has horns that appear to act both as antlers and antennae. Its mouth has pincers and their single eye sockets contain three eyeballs each. It has dragonfly wings and a long-segmented body that ends in a stinger. The exoskeleton hides a serpentine body.

Behavior: Solitude is a violent Chthonian. It usually travels alone and Chthonians overall seem to avoid it despite it never attacking them. It is recorded attacking rocks, trees, and even others of its own species. This does not seem to be for any hierarchical purposes and only acts as a way for it to express its violent nature. It was once thought to be the apex predator of the Chthonians before we understood more about how Vallice functioned.

Threat: Solitude is one of the most dangerous Chthonians in Vallice. It is best avoided all together. Even a single one is said to massacre an army with ease. It stings, it bites, it flies, and it will not stop even after its target is dead. There has yet to be a single successful kill of this specimen. Should one find themselves to be a target of Solitude, they will know what it is like to be a rabbit chased by hawks. Not only in the helplessness but in the only hope for escape. If you cannot outrun it or hide in densely forested areas, you can only scream in hopes another Solitude hears and attempts to fight the other for the right to kill.
