Chthonian: Nomadic Wisp
Name: Nomadic Wisp
Alternate Name: Fire Sale
Description: Nomadic Wisp are small sprite-like Chthonians. Their entire body is made of fire which burns red. They have stubby legs and a cape that surrounds the neck separating their heads from their bodies.
Behavior: Nomadic Wisp, true to their name, travel across the land of Vallice. They will often be seen gathering objects though they do not seem to have a pattern in what they will collect. There are records of these Chthonians collecting leaves, pebbles, and valuable treasures alike. They seem to have an obsession with bartering and selling, hence their alternate name. Should they see someone or something they can sell to they will rush towards them at top speed in excitement. This often results in the subject of their interest being badly burnt. It is advised to hide behind an object that can’t burn like rocks. This will make the Nomadic Wisp crash into the rock which we pacify their urge to sell somewhat, and explorers can start a potential transaction. Though most of the time the prices are high for underwhelming merchandise. There is an old joke that says the ancient Tekiya of Japan had their souls reborn as this Chthonian.
Threat: Due to their signature tackle they are considered dangerous until pacified. As stated in their behavior it is smart to carry an object that can block them. Once this happens, they make great companions both in conversation and when one is in need of supplies. If one makes enough sales or trades with the Nomadic Wisp, they will remember that individual and won’t rush them in the future as they are considered a “loyal customer”. In a few examples this has been the case. Repeat interactions have shown the Chthonian treats the individual like a friend having conversation and on one occasion providing a gift to the “loyal customer.”
