Chthonian: Dead Twilight
Name: Dead Twilight
Alternate Name: Oark Trees
Description: Dead Twilight, true to their name, takes the appearance of a dead Twilight Tree. They are completely bare of any leaves and do not grow fruits, instead growing another Chthonian called Bud-dies. They are usually found in empty fields rather than the forested areas of Vallice. Any relation to the Twilight Tree is currently unknown.
Behavior: Dead Twilight are immobile remaining rooted where they are. Despite this their trunks and branches are capable of complete mobility somewhat reminiscent of a tentacle. They usually remain mostly motionless until a human comes near. At this point they will throw a Chthonian known as Bud-dies at the human before growing more. When humans are not near they are observed making minor movements with their branches.
Threat: Much like most Chthonians, Dead Twilight dislike humans. The Chthonian they throw are filled with poisonous nectar and a putrid odor. The nectar is also bright, often resulting in a flash and a splash when the Bud-dies land. If a human gets close, the tree will grip them and hold them in place as it grows more Bud-dies. These Bud-dies will then approach the captive victim and continue poisoning them. Other actions include crushing and throwing the victim. Despite how dangerous this Chthonian is, it is not a threat if someone stays a safe distance away. In areas where Dead Twilight grow Bud-dies tend to frequent as well. Bud-dies are a threat of their own.
